We may never know how many people really eyeballed Brenden Morrow's
series-clinching goal at 1:24 a.m. Monday. But we do know how many
Dallas-Fort Worth homes were tuned into the game on Fox Sports Net Southwest
from 1:15 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.

The television rating for that quarter hour was a 3.9 with an 18 share. The
rating translates into 94,988 homes, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The 18 share means that 18 percent of all homes with televisions in use were
tuned to the final minutes of the Stars 2-1 four-overtime victory over the
San Jose Sharks.
Overall, the game scored a Stars playoff high 4.4 average rating (107,000
homes) with an 11 share from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. It peaked from 10:30 p.m.
to 11 p.m. with a 6.0 rating (146,000 homes).

I watched every minute. But I understand why people bailed, hell it's a
workday tomorrow and with both goalies playing lights out, who could
tell when it would end. Reminded me vividly of the Stanley Cup clincher...

I am shocked more people did not leave sooner, being a Sunday morning. I bet
a lot of people are going to be hitting the sheets early tonite. Luckily, I
was working while watching.

Being what day now? Are you too busy trolling to keep track?

was ''working'' while watching.
I fixed your post for you.

Sharks fans stayed tuned till 11.30pm. :) Hell, I'm often working
(that's really working, not trolling) till then anyway. Had a San Jose
home game gone to four OT, I'm not sure I'd have stayed up that late.

Way offtopic OT story: I had a meeting in the evening that I knew would
last 2-3 hours, so I watched the first half-hour or so of a playoff game
(IIRC the Flyers were one team; can't recall the other; could also be
wrong anyway), then left. When I got back, I turned on the television,
saw the same two teams playing, and thought to myself, "How nice,
they're replaying the game for us." It was then that I realized the
game was in its third OT. :) That one went 5OT, I believe, so again it
lasted till about 11.30pm Pacific (it was played in ET, so it was 2.30
for those poor fans). One of the few advantages of trying to watch
sports out here in PT; when an NHL game goes long overtimes, we can
watch many of them without b0rking our schedules.

Well I'm a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and I didn't watch any of it
because, after all, who cares?
